…That ye may know how that I am the LORD 012313

Today’s Bible Reading –

Exodus 9 – 10 and Matthew 23

Selected verses…

Old Testament –

“And the LORD said unto Moses, ‘Go in unto Pharaoh: for I have hardened his heart, and the heart of his servants, that I might shew these My signs before him: and that thou mayest tell in the ears of thy son, and of thy son’s son, what things I have wrought in Egypt, and My signs which I have done among them; that ye may know how that I am the LORD.’  And Moses and Aaron came in unto Pharaoh, and said unto him, ‘Thus saith the LORD God of the Hebrews, ‘How long wilt thou refuse to humble thyself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me.'”  Exodus 10:1-3 (KJV)

New Testament –

“But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.  Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.”  Matthew 23:13-15 (KJV)
