…Who comforteth us in all our tribulation… 070513

Today’s Bible Reading –

Job 34 and 2 Corinthians 1

Selected verses…

Old Testament –

“Furthermore Elihu answered and said, ‘Hear my words, O ye wise men; and give ear unto me, ye that have knowledge. For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat. Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good. For Job hath said, ‘I am righteous: and God hath taken away my judgment. Should I lie against my right? My wound is incurable without transgression.’ What man is like Job, who drinketh up scorning like water? Which goeth in company with the workers of iniquity, and walketh with wicked men. For he hath said, ‘It profiteth a man nothing that he should delight himself with God.'” Job 34:1-9 (KJV)

New Testament –

“Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ. And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.”  2 Corinthians 1:3-6 (KJV)
